This guy sounds like he has the same mentality that the guy I just stopped talking to has: He wants to "refuse", to remove any sort of obligation, so that way if *you* instigate anything out of temptation, he can throw it in your face when you get too close for comfort. It's their way of dealing with a need to be loved, but it's completely self-serving. Guys like that never see themselves as being the difficult and complicated one... they never do.... until it's way too late.

The faster you can phase him out of your life, the better.
 

so, i do end up talking to him late at night, i figure beforehand we can just have a pleasant telephone conversation, i tell him i'm watching tv when he asks what i'm doing. then he tells me he's not going to come down now. well, i think, but don't say, i don't remember asking you down.
